Elk
Archery, muzzleloader, and rifle. High-country bugles in September, then tracking herds lower as the snow pushes them down.

Southwest Colorado · GMU 61 · 70 · S-64
A family-run outfit guiding elk, deer, bear, mountain lion, bobcat, and desert bighorn on the San Juan, Uncompahgre, and Grand Mesa National Forests. Small groups. Big country. Twenty-three seasons of know-how.

Est. 2002 · Norwood, Colorado
Knight Canyon has been in the hunting business for more than thirty years, and running our own outfit since 2002. We operate on U.S. Forest Service and BLM ground inside the San Juan, Uncompahgre, and Grand Mesa National Forests, with private land access where it matters.
We keep camps to four or five hunters so every guest gets a real guide, real attention, and the hunt they came for. Lodge meals after a long day, or nights under Colorado stars — either way, you're in for an experience worth coming back for.
What we hunt
Every hunt starts with weeks of pre-season scouting in the units we work year-round. You arrive, we put you on game.
Archery, muzzleloader, and rifle. High-country bugles in September, then tracking herds lower as the snow pushes them down.
Mature bucks in remote, rugged terrain. Glassing-heavy hunts where pre-season scouting earns the shot.
Run with seasoned hounds after a fresh snow. The bow hunt of a lifetime — and one of our most-requested trips.
Add-on to any deer or elk license. Spot-and-stalk in oak brush and meadows as fall berries hit.
Winter cat hunts with the hounds. Patient, technical, and unforgettable when the dogs lock in.
A true once-in-a-lifetime tag. Limited draw with deadline first week of April — private land vouchers may be available.
The Country
Our hunts take place in a remote stretch of Southwest Colorado within Game Management Units 61, 70, and S-64. Archery and muzzleloader hunts start at higher elevations where animals spend their summers. As temperatures drop and snow builds, we move lower, tracking game as it descends.
The lodge sits below the Lone Cone — the kind of country that explains itself the first time you step onto the porch.

Between the two of us, my father-in-law and I have about a dozen guided hunts under our belt and we both agreed that this one was the best. The accommodations were first rate and no details were overlooked.
What an amazing mountain lion hunting experience. It was the bow hunt of a lifetime. Bill and Wade were amazing and patient. The dogs were well trained and wouldn't stop until the cat was treed.
My wife harvested a mature 6×6 bull elk with a shot at 885 yards. Neither me, my wife, or Bill were able to contain our excitement when the elk went down just 10 feet from where he was shot.
